The one-month long 35th Fajr International Theater Festival that ends on January 31 will hold two training workshops on play writing and acting for theater practitioners.
The workshops are organized under the auspices of Central Tehran Branch of Azad University’s Faculty of Art and Architecture, ILNA reported.
The first of the two will have a seminar titled ‘Technique in Today’s French Play Writing’ and is slated for January 29, from 2-5 pm.
French playwright Christian Simeon who in 2007, was selected Best Playwright for his musical comedy ‘Le Cabaret des Hommes Perdus’ (The Cabaret of Lost Men) at the 21st edition of Moliere Award, the highest French national event that recognizes achievement in live theater, will conduct the event at the university premises, located at the intersection of Enqelab Avenue and Felestin (Palestine) Street.
The second will be organized in the form of a training workshop. The event will be held on Monday, January 30 at the rehearsal hall of Tehran City Theater.
The workshop, running from 10 am-1 pm, is titled Workshop Review on Body Performance Method in ‘There,’ a performance by Jo Stromgren Kompani (JSK), a Norwegian dance theater company with a large, global distribution, specializing in nonsensical languages.
The play ‘There’ is slated for four performances from January 27-31 at the main hall of Tehran City Theater as part of the current Fajr Theater Festival. In addition to the shows, Performers Ivar Lund and Ivar Orn Sverrisson will arrange a workshop for Iranian performing artists, introducing them to the work and style of Jo Stromgren Kompani.
‘There’ is directed by Norwegian dancer, theater director and playwright Jo Stromgren, 47, who is the art director of Jo Stromgren Kompani.
