Two field guides, one on the fish species in the inland waters of Iran, and the other on spiders and scorpions in the country, have recently been published by Iranshenasi Publication.
Specializing in Iranian studies, the Tehran-based publishing house has released the two books following the latest field research on fishes, spiders and scorpions in Iran, the Book House Institute said on its website khaneheketab.ir.
The books are titled: ‘Field Guide to Fishes in Iran’s Inland Waters’ by ecologist, ichthyologist, limnologist, virologist and expert in bioinformatics Asghar Abdoli; and ‘Field Guide to Spiders and Scorpions of Iran’ by arachnologist and taxonomist Alireza Zamani.
The two works were unveiled on January 16, among other books released by Iranshenasi Publication at Saraye-Ahle-Qalam in Tehran, a cultural forum affiliated to the Book House Institute.
The guide on fishes contains the latest information about marine vertebrates in the country’s inland waters.
The other is the first such work in the Middle East on spiders and scorpions and contains pictorial information on over 230 species.
