The largest professional theater center in Iran, Khavaran Theater Complex, also known as Tehran Theater Campus, will stage its first production on January 29 simultaneously with the inauguration of the main hall of the complex.

The play “I …,’ with a huge cast is written, designed and directed by playwright and theater actor Farhad Tajvidi, 56.

The main hall of the theater complex in southeastern Tehran will be inaugurated on the same day with the staging of the production that has 80 young thespians in the show representing the various characters of the city people and their contradictory behaviors, Theater Online (theateronline.ir) reported.

Rehearsals for the play started a few weeks ago and the play will run for two months.

It is a modern performance based on group choreography and “emotional imagery,” that Tajvidi tries to portray.

The complex is located next to Khavaran Cultural Center on Baqaee Street.

As the largest theater complex in the Middle East, built on 210,000 sq meters, it has a main hall with 1,000 seats, four halls with 150 seats, a puppetry hall, and an amphitheater. Some 3,500 sq meters of the building is allocated to traditional and ethnic performances. The center has a moving six-meter deep stage.
