The second edition of ‘A Narrative of the Life of Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani,’ first published by Sayan Publications in 2016, will be brought out shortly.
“Its release is to commemorate the demise of the former Iranian president and chairman of the Expediency Council who passed away on January 8,” said Jafar Shiralinia, 38, writer of the book.
Shiralinia is a scholar and researcher in the history of the 1979 Islamic Revolution and the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war, Mehr News Agency reported.
Before finalizing the work, a copy was sent to Rafsanjani and another to the Expediency Council, “as there were a number of gaps in our research which could be filled only by him.”
Rafsanjani included a few revisions on the dates in the historical context, while the other copy received a number of comments from the persons who were close to him. “All the revisions are included in the second edition of the biography,” the writer said.
At the time of the final revisions, Rafsanjani said the author “is free to include my points or not.”
“His response was beyond my expectations,” said Shiralinia.
The book has used diverse sources. The photos, for instance, were collected from the Expediency Council, news agencies, the Persian dailies of ‘Etelaat’ and ‘Iran,’ as well as some private albums.
Shiralinia is also the author of ‘A Narrative of the Life of Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei,’ an illustrated biography of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution published in June 2016 by Sayan Publications.
