The 32nd Fajr International Music Festival will be streamed live online for fans who cannot attend the performances, said event director Hamid Reza Nourbakhsh at a press conference at Vahdat Hall in Tehran on Saturday, ISNA reported.
Also, due to the limited number of concert halls, there always are big numbers of people standing behind the doors, so the online live streaming will help a large number of enthusiasts interested in the festival programs.
“Mostly it is the residents of Tehran who attend the festival concerts, and fans living in other provincial cities have always been deprived of the event as it only happens in Tehran.
Fortunately, with the help of technology, viewing the performances has been made possible elsewhere. I hope it is a starting point for future programs of such kind as well,” Nourbakhsh said.
Traditional, pop and folk singers and groups will perform in the festival which includes national and international competition sections. Musicians from Azerbaijan Republic, India, Lebanon, Spain, Portugal, France, Italy and Japan will attend. Prizes will be awarded for performance, composition, singing and arrangement, at the closing ceremony of the festival slated for January 11-20.
From early January till mid February, several art festivals are held under the banner of ‘Fajr’ to mark the 10-Day Dawn (Fajr) Festivities which celebrate the anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
