Painter Siamak Azmi, 44, is portraying “transmuted” humans in the shape of dolls at his latest exhibition.

‘Doll’ is Azmi’s upcoming solo exhibit which opens Friday, January 6, at Tehran’s Vali Art Gallery, located at No. 72, Khodami Street, Vanak, Honaronline reported.

The display includes 11 oil-on-canvas paintings and will run through January 17 daily from 4-8 pm. The paintings symbolically depict contemporary humans transmuted into “tradable dolls,” Azmi said.

“Today, many people have distanced themselves from their intrinsic nature, and turned into ‘commodities’ that have a price-tag, and embrace riches, luxuries and brands as playthings.”
