The Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA) in Tehran will host story-tellers from Iran and the world at its upcoming event in February.

The 19th edition of International Story-Telling Festival is being organized by the institute’s Cultural and Artistic Creation Center, IBNA reported.

The event is slated for February 15-19 and a total of 57 story-tellers from Iran and overseas will participate in the competition and non-competition sections.

The provincial competitions of the festival were held in November and the selected works will be presented at the festival which includes categories such as free, young adults and audiences. There is also a special category for grandparents where elders can participate to tell their stories.

The event has a particular emphasis on educational topics and those promoting Iranian-Islamic lifestyle.

One of the main categories is ‘Razavi’ in which the stories about Imam Reza (AS), the eight Shia Imam, will be narrated.

Unlike previous editions, this year’s festival includes foreign story-tellers in the competition section.

IIDCYA is involved in a wide range of cultural and artistic activities in the field of mental and cultural development for children and young adults.
