Gilan Folk Music at Azadi Tower

The folk music ensemble ‘Dilmun,’ led by musician, singer, theater director and actor Mahmoud Farzinejad, 39, will perform its latest pieces at Tehran’s Azadi Tower on January 11.

Dilmun’s performance will be part of the 32nd Fajr International Music Festival from January 11-20, the Iranian music website musiceiranian.ir reported.

The program starts at 6 pm and features ethnic music pieces of Gilan Province. The folk pieces include ‘Dilmun Rajeh’ (Mount Dilmun), ‘Qorbati’ (Stanger), ‘Korand Asb’ (Golden Horse), ‘Leh Leh, Gousand Dokhan’ (Calling the Sheep) and ‘Aha Bogou’ (Say It) among others.

The pieces are arranged by composer and player of setar and tonbak, Arash Eshqi, 38. Fazinejad will sing the songs.

Other members of the ensemble are Saber Gholamipour, Toumaj Mosaffa, Sobhan Sarabi, Ramin Abdollahi, Navid Lahiji, Ali Athari, Manijeh Vahed Qaziani and Hadiss Nikrou.
