‘Kech’ Wins in Mumbai
‘Kech’ Wins in Mumbai

The Iranian short film ‘Kech’ has won the top award in the Short Film Fiction Competition section at the 15th Third Eye Asian Film Festival in Mumbai, India.

Directed by Mehrdad Hasani, the film narrates the story of a nurse who sacrifices herself to save a child in a war zone.

A production of Iranian Young Cinema Society, the short work, running for 15 minutes, has Paria Vaziri and Fatemeh Galosalari in the cast. Kech means daughter in Kurdish.

Besides the Competition Sections for short and feature films, the festival comprises other sections such as Spectrum Asia, Films by Women Filmmakers, European Connection and Asian Film Culture Award.

In addition to ‘Kech’, four more Iranian short films competed in the event (Dec. 15-22, 2016) that awards filmmakers who strive to promote Asian cinema in the world.
