Kazzazi to Be Honored in Kermanshah

Kermanshah, the capital of western Kermanshah Province will host a ceremony to honor one of its prominent living literary figures.

The master of Persian literature, renowned Iranologist, writer and translator Mir Jalaleddin Kazzazi, 67, will be honored by the provincial department of the Culture Ministry, ISNA reported.

Perhaps the most renowned among Kazzazi’s contributions to Iranian culture are his extensive researches in Shahnameh (Book of Kings), the epic poem by Persian poet Abul Qasem Ferdowsi Tusi (940-1020).

The honoring ceremony is slated for January 5, in which the book ‘Farzaneh Farzand-e-Ferdowsi’ (Ferdowsi’s Wise Child) will be unveiled.

Published by Tehran-based Moin Publications the book is a tribute to Kazzazi. It is a collection of articles written by literati and scholars about the master in 900 pages.

The ceremony will be attended by Ebrahim Rahimi Zanganeh, the director general of the provincial department, essayist, literary researcher, critic and journalist Kamyar Abedi, as well as a number of faculty members from Allameh Tabatabai University in Tehran who will speak about Kazzazi’s cultural contributions.
