The ceremony to award the winning works at the 2nd International Competition of Research, Technology & Innovation in the Eyes of Photographers & Cartoonists will be held in Tehran on January 1, 2017.
Around 370 artists from 44 countries including China, Russia, Ukraine, Brazil, Turkey and Serbia have sent entries to the contest, and 320 animated films have been submitted to the event secretariat, Mehr News Agency reported.
Organized by the National Research Institute for Science Policy, the contest seeks to identify achievements, challenges and opportunities in the fields of higher education, research, technology and innovation from the perspective of photographers and cartoonists.
The call for submissions was issued on October 31 and the top three winners of the two competitive sections, ‘education and research’ and ‘technology and innovation’, will be awarded a commendation plaque as well as a cash prize.
The subjects include research facilities in universities, relationship between academia and industry, impractical research, research contribution in GDP, researchers and the job market, migration of graduates and researchers, technology and innovation in people’s lives and technology and social harm, among others.
The ceremony will be held at the Andisheh Cultural Center along with an exhibition of the winning works.
