Photographer Mostafa Dehqanian has organized his second Polaroid photography exhibition at Dena Gallery in Tehran.

Polaroid photography is an instant photography technique with a type of camera that uses self-developing film to create a chemically developed print shortly after the picture is taken.

The American corporation of Polaroid pioneered and patented consumer friendly instant cameras and film, and was followed by other manufacturers.

Dehqanian’s exhibition is titled ‘The Back Portraits and Mirrors.’ An introduction to the exhibit by graphic designer, illustrator and sketch artist Hassan Nozadian says: “In the ethereal twilight between delineation and exclusion, art is created. An image is created as a result of a synthesis between presence and absence, with the two elements giving rise to the eternal cycle of creation and destruction.”

The exhibition opened on Friday, December 30, at Dena Gallery and will run through January 4, 2017. Visiting hours are from 4-8 pm, according to Tandis magazine of visual arts (tandismag.com).

Dehqanian held his first Polaroid photography exhibit at the same venue in December 2015.

Dena Gallery was founded in 2015 to promote contemporary and modern art. It is located at No.4, Soussan Alley, Qarani Street, Tehran.
