The play 'Swan Song' written by the well-known Russian playwright and short story writer Anton Chekhov and directed by the Iranian theater director Negin Fakhravi is currently on stage at Ostad Mashayekhi Theater Hall in Tehran.

'Swan Song' is a one-act 1887 play by Chekhov, based on his own story 'Calchas', concerning an elderly actor who reminisces about his life and the parts he has played, tiwall.com reported.

A swan song is the last thing produced or performed by an artist for the public and the piece takes a tragic look at ambition and the sacrifices that must be made in order to succeed.

Besides directing, Fakhravi acts in the play as well along with Saeed Taheri, Mohammad Gholami, Anita Oveisi, Maryam Rasooli, Ali Sayyar and Paria Rad.

The play will run through January 1, 2017 at the theater located at No. 1478,  northwest of Vali-e-Asr Junction, Enqelab St.
