The Iranian 3D movie ‘A Hell of a Wedding’ has won its second international award at its second presence in a festival abroad.

Participating in the 8th edition of 3D Stereo MEDIA International Festival in Brussels, Belgium, the movie was awarded the 3D Feature Live Action prize at the festival closing ceremony on December 15, cinematicket.org reported.

An Iran-France joint film, it is a production of the Iranian company Kavir Film and Choisy Films from France.

Directed by the Iranian filmmaker Reza Khatibi, it is a children’s comedy which tells the story of a group of children who, at a wedding, soon discover that the groom’s brother is a dangerous drug trafficker. However, neither their parents nor the police believe the children; so they decide to stop him and his henchmen themselves.

Iranian film editor Pegah Ahmadi and French stereographer Jean-Marie Boulet accompanied Khatibi in the event.

Earlier in October, the movie won the special jury prize at the 8th 3D Korea International Film Festival in its first international participation.

It has been on screen in cinemas across the country since December 1. It is shown in 3D in a few halls and the rest of the movie theaters are screening the 2D version.

Alireza Khamseh, Mir Taher Mazloomi, Naeimeh Nezamdoost and Morteza Zarrabi are among the well-known actors who have acted in the film along with nine young children.

‘A Hell of a Wedding’ is Khatibi’s third feature film and the second in which he has collaborated with producer Mohammad Ahmadi.
