Wind Orchestra at Vahdat Hall

Kara Orchestra, led by Iranian conductor Bardia Kiaras, 37, will stage a performance with wind instruments on December 28 at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall.

The orchestra is currently rehearsing the repertoire including pieces from American Latin rock band Santana, American composer of orchestral, choral, chamber and concert band works Frank Ticheli, 58, British rock band Coldplay and American singer, actor and producer Frank Sinatra (1915-1998) whose compositions for saxophone are famous, ISNA reported.

At the upcoming event, the orchestra will also render the soundtrack of Disney’s animated feature film Aladdin released in 1992. Aladdin’s soundtrack earned American composer and pianist Alan Menken, 67, the Academy Award for Best Original Score and the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score, as well as a nomination for BAFTA Award for Best Film Music, given by British Academy of Film and Television Arts.

The ensemble will feature woodwind and brass instruments, drums and bass guitar. After a performance at the 32nd edition during the Fajr International Music Festival, January 11-20 in Tehran, Kara will perform a concert in Rasht, the capital of Gilan Province on January 18-19, 2017.
