The Iranian folk music band Rastak has released a new album titled ‘Mian-e- Khorshid-Haye Hamisheh’ (Forever Among the Sun) in two audio and video editions.

The album is named after a famous poem composed by Iranian poet, writer and journalist Ahmad Shamlou (1925-2000).

Released in the market on December 21, it is the fourth album by the folk band after ‘All My Nations’ in 2010, ‘Ancient Hues: A Narrative of Iranian Folk Music’ in 2012 and ‘Sornaye Norouzi’ in 2013.

To enjoy the rich culture of ethnic music, the band traveled to seven provinces: Kerman, Khuzestan, Hormozgan, Kurdistan, Fars, Sistan-Baluchestan and Azarbaijan.

In each leg of the tour, local masters joined the band and played instruments of ethnic music as guest musicians.

The album features the pieces sung in various languages and dialects such as Balouchi, Kermani, Shirazi, Kurdish, Shoushtari and Azeri.

Rastak will perform the concert on December 28-29 at the Milad Tower Conference Hall in Tehran.
