The Iranian short film ‘Alan’ has been selected to take part in the international competition section of the 39th Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, due from February 3-11, 2017, in France.

Directed by Mostafa Gandomkar, the 22-minute fiction is about the Kurdish people in Syria and Iraq who have lost their homes in the conflict in the Middle East. It narrates the story of one of the families, Mehr News Agency reported.

‘Alan’ is a 2016 production which was chosen among a total of 92 short films submitted to the festival from Iran.

The festival is the world’s leading film festival dedicated to short films. It is held annually in the central French city of Clermont-Ferrand, and is the largest film festival in France in terms of audience and professional attendance, boasting over 100,000 attendees in recent years.
