Goharan (gems) artworks auction will put on sale a total of 100 works of prominent Iranian artists on Friday, December 16, at Niavaran Complex in northern Tehran.

The proceeds will be used to build a hospital for children with primary immunodeficiency, Honaronline reported.

Primary immunodeficiency (PI) diseases are a group of more than 300 rare, chronic disorders in which part of the body’s immune system is missing or functions improperly.

At the upcoming event, art collector Saeedeh Abshenasan will auction 100 paintings from her personal collection which includes works by renowned Iranian artists Faramarz Pilaram, Lili Matin Daftari, Ardeshir Mohasses, Nasrollah Afjei, Farideh Lashai, Parvaneh Etemadi, Reza Bangiz, Bahram Dabiri, Shirin Etehadieh and Behzad Shishegaran among others.

Moreover, a painting by the Iranian poet, literary critic and novelist Siavash Kasrai (1927-1996) and another painting by the veteran traditional singer Master Mohammadreza Shajarian, will also go under the hammer.

Through the humanitarian gesture, Abshenasan seeks to draw the attention of artists and art fans to support children with PI.

Abshenasan is also the managing editor of art and culture magazine Goharan. She has produced the play ‘Three Sisters and Others’ directed by well-known theater director Hamid Amjad, which was staged at City Theater in Tehran in July and August.
