The head of Kuwait-Iran Friendship Association,  Abdulrahman Al-Awadhi, in a meeting with the director and deputy director of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, (ICRO) emphasized the role of Iran in shaping Islamic culture and asserted that “the two countries can help revive Islamic civilization through collaborative efforts.”

Members of the association met Abuzar Ebrahimi-Torkaman, director general and Seyed Mohammad-Hossein Hashemi, deputy director of ICRO on Monday to discuss cultural collaborations between the two Islamic nations, Fars news agency reported.

Underlining the cultural and geographical proximities between the two nations, Torkaman referred to cultural ties “as the best channel for bringing countries closer to each other.”

He also thanked members of the association for facilitating productive talks and the organization of cultural programs between the two sides.

Speaking on behalf of the Kuwaiti delegates, Al-Awadhi referred to Islam as the “best common religion and the main reason for fraternity and brotherhood among more than 1.4 billion people around the world.”

He emphasized the role of Iranian scientists such as Ibn-Sina and Zakariya Razi in shaping Islamic civilization, and urged the members of the friendship association and the ICRO to strive for “reviving” the golden age of Islamic civilization.

The Kuwaiti delegation also met Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati on Tuesday.
