Well known actor and theater director Siavash Tahmoures, 69, will stage an improvised version of an old play called ‘Void in Void’ for a week in November.

Titled ‘Hich dar Hich’ in Persian, the play is unconventional and has no story. “In 1974, I had such a performance once on stage which was successful. Now I’m going to present it differently,” Tahmoures told ISNA.

The performance will be staged at the City Theater of Tehran from November 6-12.

Tahmoures who directs the play, also has a role. Other thespians are the celebrated film and theater actors Asghar Hemmat, 63; Ezzatollah Mehravaran, 45; Shohreh Soltani, 46; Mohammad Hatami, 54; and Mina Abdi.

“The play is based on improvisation. There are no lines for any of the cast. Based on their own instinct and reaction, they will perform in line with the one word given. There is nothing specific. Only one word is given, and that is just before the show starts.”

The settings are designed on the basis of the given word. “The cast members will get a different word each evening of the performance; so all they have to do is grasp the word and the décor of the settings that changes after the word, to help them perform,” Tahmoures said.
