National Conference on TPSOL Textbooks

The first National Conference on Investigating Textbooks of TPSOL (Teaching Persian to Speakers of Other Languages), was held last week at Tehran’s Shahid Beheshti University in collaboration with Saadi Foundation.

The event was organized in accordance with the policies of the country to strengthen and expand Persian as the second language of the Muslim world, IBNA reported.

It sought to train instructors of Persian language and attract more foreign learners to learn the language in Iran. Linguists and scholars exchanged opinions on various issues at the conference including  evaluation and assessment of educational sources, developing texts for specific purposes, use of teaching aids, editing texts for multicultural classes, use of Persian language and literature in the drafting of texts, localization of theoretical foundations of educational sources, representation of Iranian culture and civilization in educational sources and compilation of texts of Persian language courses for virtual spaces.
