Amirkabir University of Technology in Tehran will host the 2nd international Polymer & Color Scientific Photography competition (PCSP) next month.

The event is aimed at bridging the gap between art and industry. “Every day we observe various phenomena such as sunrise and sunset with light reflected off polymer and color-coated surfaces,” IRNA quoted secretary of the photo contest Tahereh Taqavi as saying.

“In view of the recent developments in polymer and color industry and the close interrelations existing between photography and color technology, the university’s Polymer & Color Engineering Department has organized the competition,” Taqavi said.

The contest is an opportunity for artistic expression in photography related to polymer visual phenomena. “The PCSP competition has three categories: Macro, Micro and Mobile Photography. Participants can submit up to five photos, black/white or in color. The submitted photos should be in JPG format, with the resolution of at least three mega-pixels. Each photo should come with a caption.”

The deadline for submission of the photos is November 20 and winners will be announced by the end of November. For registration and further information, enthusiasts can refer to www.aut-pcsp.ir.

The first edition of PCSP was held in summer of 2015.
