Several Iranian movies will be participating in international festivals across the globe including Tirana International Film Festival in Albania (TIFF), Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia and Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) in India.

In the third edition of TIFF, slated for May 10-17, 2017, ‘Atousa’s Laughter’ directed by Alireza Farid has been selected in the official competition section, and in the short fiction films section, ‘The Salt Man’ by Seyed Sajad Moosavi will represent Iran, ISNA reported. One of the special programs designed for the event is homage to the late Iranian auteur Abbas Kiarostami who died in July at the age of 76. In this section, seven of his feature and short films will be shown and a number of Iranian and Albanian filmmakers and critics will discuss Kiarostami’s works and style at a session.

The 20th Black Nights festival will be held November 11-27 and will screen three films from Iran.

‘Breath’ by Narges Abyar will vie in the main competition program to win the top prize, Golden Wolf Award. ‘Duet’ by Navid Danesh will participate in the first feature competition section and Mehrdad Oskouei’s award-winning documentary ‘Starless Dreams’ will be screened in the programs on the sidelines.
