Iran will participate in the 61st International Belgrade Book Fair, slated for October 23-30 in Belgrade, Serbia, as the guest of honor and will introduce Iranian culture and literature to a wider audience.

Various programs for its pavilion in the Serbian event have been planned including book and author promotions, lectures and seminars as well as book displays, Mehr News Agency reported.

The Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA) will have a separate stand and will present 130 titles including novels, picture books and catalogue of the books published in 2016.

The IIDCYA has a wide range of cultural and artistic activities in the field of mental and cultural development for children and young adults.

Besides Iran, this year, publishers from Russia, Australia, Italy, Greece, India, France, Germany, Spain, Brazil, Romania, Poland and the UK will take part in the fair with over 150,000 titles.

The book fair is one of the oldest and the most important literary events in the region, with the main goal of helping publishers, authors, booksellers, librarians, book distributors, multimedia companies and other people in the business to establish contacts, exchange experiences, make business deals, and initiate cultural cooperation.
