The first week of the International Tennis Futures Tournament will open at Kish Olympic Sports Complex on Saturday (Nov 22).
A number of prominent players from Croatia, Romania, Slovakia, Macedonia, Portugal, Italy, Slovenia, Germany, Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Argentina, Malaysia, Netherlands, India, Australia, Japan, Great Britain, Singapore, Tajikistan, Montenegro, Ghana as well as 23 Iranian players have registered for the tournament which runs over three weeks, Mehr news agency reported.
Italy and Germany with 10 and 7 tennis players respectively have the most players among the foreign participants.
Croatian tennis player Tony Androvich has a great chance of winning the tournament, reports say.
The 91 sq km Kish Island in the Persian Gulf with its refreshing climate, beautiful and unique beaches and also its multipurpose Olympic Stadium equipped with facilities on par with global standards for sports camps and international competitions, hosts several domestic and international sporting events annually.
