With the Twinkling of the Eye: Allusion in Hafiz’ Verse will be unveiled at Lajevardi Foundation in Tehran On Friday, October 7.

Published posthumously, this is Mansour Maleki’s last book and has been brought out by Rad Noandish artistic and cultural institution. The event coincides with his birth anniversary.

Maleki was a journalist, poet, critic, editor and an instructor in literature.

“Many of my students were unfamiliar with religious and national myths, a disconcerting matter,” the book’s introduction reads.

It adds that the book “is an effort to fill this void, specifically within Iran’s education system.”

Maleki who was also formerly a public relations manager at Tehran’s Museum of Contemporary Arts, passed away at age 73 on September 20, 2015 after ailing for a year.

He also played a significant role in developing the career of his wife, Pari Maleki, widely accredited as Iran’s lady of traditional music and the head of Khonya Ensemble.

The unveiling will receive enthusiasts from four to eight pm. The venue is located at No. 20, Sepand Street, Villa Street, Karim Khan Avenue.

Lajevardi Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Tehran that promotes contemporary art and culture.
