Koohestani’s ‘Hearing’ Set for France, Switzerland

Following its European tour, the Iranian play ‘Hearing’ written and directed by Amir Reza Koohestani will be performed in France and Switzerland this month.

A production of Mehr Theater Group, the play had a successful performance in Iran last year and was recently staged at the Festival of International New Drama (FIND) in Germany in April and Avignon Festival in France in July.

On October 6 and 7, it will be staged at the International Arts Festival of Bordeaux Metropole in France, Mehr News Agency reported.

Later, on October 11, 15, 17 and 19 the play will be performed at the Paris Autumn Festival.

Following this performance, the troupe will visit Switzerland, where they will stage the play in the Swiss city of La Chaux-de-Fonds at the Théâtre populaire romand on October 22 and 23.

The 70-minute play is about two university students at a girl’s dormitory in Tehran who have to answer questions from the security staff after it was reported that a man’s voice and laughter was heard in their room on New Year’s Eve. But nobody saw the man.

Mona Ahmadi, Ainaz Azarhoush, Elham Korda and Mahin Sadri are the cast.
