The musical play 'Wicked' celebrated its 10th anniversary last week in London's West End.

Since opening at the Apollo Victoria Theater in London on September 27, 2006, the show has gone on to become the 8th longest running musical in London's West End and continues to delight audiences year after year, www.londontheatre.co.uk reported. The musical, based on Gregory Maguire’s novel, presents the untold story of the good and wicked witches from 'The Wizard of Oz'. Stephen Schwartz wrote the music and lyrics. It has already been seen by eight million people in London alone.

West End is an area of Central and West London containing many of the city's major tourist attractions, shops, businesses, government buildings and entertainment venues, including the West End theaters. The ongoing London run is currently booking through November 4, 2017.

It has also been announced that the recent record-breaking UK and Ireland tour that ran September 2013-July 2015 will return February 2018, beginning a 10-city tour at Bristol Hippodrome. Further cities are still to be announced.
