Iranian film ‘Freeway’ has received the Special Jury award of the 11th International Charity Film Festival ‘Radiant Angel’, held in Moscow.
Directed and produced by Abbas Rafei, the social drama won the award at the Russian festival which was held earlier this month, Cinemapress reported.
‘Freeway’ is the story of a young cleric whose fiancé is attacked by acid thrown on her face. The young cleric, who studies the science of judgment, looks for the acid attacker with the help of his friend. The struggle between good and evil leads to an endless road in his life.
The film festival aims at addressing the development of culture, morality and spirituality and supporting films which contribute to the spread of these values in the society.
The movie was locally released last year for public screening.
A total of 144 films from 26 countries including Iran, Russia, Ukraine, Finland, Sweden and Belarus participated in the festival this year.
