Exhibition to Support Children With Cancer

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Mahak charity that supports children suffering from cancer, the second edition of 'Color of Love,' an exhibition of visual arts, will open on September 2 at Ravaq-Honari Gallery at Tehran's Milad Tower.

Half the proceeds earned from sales at the exhibition will be donated to Mahak, Honaronline reported.

For the second time a number of celebrated artists will meet to support the charity event.

The 'Color of Love II' features the works of famous figures such as painters Farah Osouli, Manijeh Sohi and Yaqoub Amamepich, painter, sculptor and installation artist Nasser Palangi, graphic designer, calligrapher and typographer Sedaqat Jabbari, actress Azita Hajian, painter, sculptor and pottery artist Arabali Sherveh, painter and graphic designer Behzad Shishegaran, late film director and photographer Abbas Kiarostami, actor and multidisciplinary artist Reza Kianian, painter Gizella Varga Sinai and 40 other renowned artists.

Surreal painter Iran Darroudi, 79, is also joining the event. She had participated in the first edition eight years ago.

The first edition in June 2008 at Abi (Blue) Gallery of Niavaran Cultural Center in Tehran, saw the participation of painter, graphic artist and calligrapher Mohammad Ehsaee, calligrapher Nasrollah Afjei, painters Shahriar Ahmadi and Shahou Babaee, late multidisciplinary artist, photographer and video artist Sadeq Tirafkan, graphic artist Ebrahim Haqiqi, sculptor and painter Hossein Khosrojerdi and photographer Maryam Zandi, among others.

On the opening day the exhibition will run from 4-9 pm and on the following days, September 3-9, the gallery will be open from 11 am to 9 pm.
