The secretariat of the 10th Iran International Documentary Film Festival, Cinema Verite, has received close to 2,000 foreign documentaries from 88 countries.
The selection committee of the international section is currently viewing the films to select the best for the event, Mehr News Agency reported.
Among the participant countries are the US, the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Brazil, Russia, China, Japan, Denmark, India, Sweden, Turkey, Mexico, Poland and Lebanon.
Organized by the Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC), the annual event showcases the best of world documentaries.
There are three international and three national competition sections for short, mid- and feature-length documentaries.
Other non-competition sections and events will also be held on the sidelines of the festival.
The 10th Cinema Verite is slated for December 4-11 in Tehran. This year's slogan is 'Truth is the Best Guide' which is a saying by Imam Ali (AS), the first Imam of Shia Muslims.
