Actor and theater director Payam Larian will stage his internationally-prized play 'Parallel Prowls' at Tehran's Molavi Hall from September 9-21.

"The play is a work by a group of university students created eight years ago. Regarding the long gap since the first show was staged, it needed to undergo some changes," said Larian, 34, a graduate of Tarbiat Modarres University.

The play was selected winner at the 13th National Student Theater Festival 2010 in Tehran. It was also among the best works selected at the Istanbul Student Theater Festival 2011, and winner of the Grand Prize at the 23rd edition of Amsterdam's International Theater School (ITS) Festival, Honaronline reported.

Parallel Prowls is about a writer who is working on his last story. The story entails a series of flashbacks where three characters are portrayed as they willingly approach their deaths.

The play has been published as a book by Tehran-based Afraz Publications, specializing in art subjects. It will be unveiled on the opening day of the show.

The cast members are Asou Bahari, Behrouz Khorram and Elham Nami. Writer, actor and theater director Sajjad Afsharian, 30, is producer of the play. Décor is by Saeed Hassanlou, and sound design by Farbod Maeen.
