The Art and Culture Organization of Tehran Municipality will open a special Library for Children and Young Adults in mid autumn to coincide with the National Book Week.
The library is the organization's first specialized facility for children and young adults and will be established at the Eshraq Cultural Center, located in the downtown Javadieh neighborhood, Fars News Agency quoted cultural deputy Hassan Nasseripour as saying.
The center was recently taken over by the Art and Culture Organization and is now being revamped for new cultural activities.
The new library will provide specialized information resources on subjects of interest to children and adolescents.
Other specialized libraries for children and young adults, based in Tehran are: Iranian Children National Library at the National Library and Archives of Iran, located on Haqqani Highway, House of Librarians for Promotion of Reading among Children and Young People in Monirie neighborhood, IT Cultural Center's specialized library for children and young adults at the intersection of Kargar-Jomhouri, and the central library of the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults located on Vozara Avenue.
