Role of Literature in Education

Education expert and translator Leila Alemi will share her experience at Waldorf School of Education in a meeting to be held at the Research Library of the Children's Book Council, in Tehran on August 15.
Her speech will focus on the role of literature and art in children's learning.
Alemi was trained at the Waldorf school, Antioch University New England, in Keene, New Hampshire, northeastern US, according to the website ketabak.org.
Waldorf education, also known as Steiner education, is based on the educational philosophy of Austrian philosopher, social reformer and architect Rudlof Steiner (1861-1925), the founder of anthroposophy.
The pedagogy of Waldorf School emphasizes the role of imagination in learning, and strives to integrate the intellectual, practical and artistic developments of pupils in a holistic way.
The two-hour meeting titled 'Approach of Waldorf Education to Literature and Art' starts at 4:30 pm. The venue of the event is on Aboureyhan Street, Enqelab Avenue.
