The Faculty of Literature and Humanities at Chamran University of Ahvaz will hold the 4th International Conference on Language, Discourse and Pragmatics (LDP) January 25-27, 2017 according to Alireza Jalilifar, the faculty president.
“Researchers can upload abstracts of their articles on www.ldpconf.com. So far, around 100 people have registered their articles on the website. The deadline for submissions is July 21,” Jalilifar told ISNA.
The submissions will be evaluated in early September and the results of the selected articles will be announced later that month. “After the conference ends, authors can choose to publish their articles in a special issue of the faculty’s scientific-research journal,” he said.
Jalilifar, who is also the event secretary, said a linguist’s major job is “to detect concepts, intentions and interpretations in scriptures and speeches. There are lots of scientific projects across the globe being undertaken in this area of research. We don’t want to lag behind.”
