Jared Leto is apparently in talks to play the ‘Joker’ in Warner Bros’ film ‘Suicide Squad’.
According to The Wrap News Inc., Leto, who won an Oscar this year for his role in Dallas Buyers Club, is being linked to play Batman’s nemesis after Ryan Gosling turned down the role as he didn’t want to sign a deal for multiple films.
David Ayer is directing ‘Suicide Squad’, which is based on the DC comic of the same name in which a team of supervillains are given a second chance by the government for redemption. The catch is that the mission they are sent on will likely end up killing all of them.
It is expected that Social Network star Jesse Eisenberg will play Lex Luthor, the Superman villain he is cast as in Warner Bros’ Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, although casting is yet to be confirmed. The Dark Knight Rises villain actor Tom Hardy, Will Smith and Margot Robbie are reportedly in talks for Suicide Squad, which is being directed by David Ayer.
British model Cara Delevigne is also rumored to appear in the cast as Harley Quinn, the accomplice of the Joker.
