A photo exhibition on Iran by German photographer and author Bernd Schmitz will be held in Burscheid, Germany, in September.

Schmitz, who has traveled to Iran three times from 2008 to 2016, was inspired by Iranian hospitality and that motivated him to hold a photo exhibition titled ‘Welcome to Iran’ regarding the people, Mehr News Agency reported.

During his trips, Schmitz learned about Iranian culture, traditions and customs in different parts of the country. Getting to know various ethnic groups living in the vast land of Iran, the artist “found a common trait among all the people.”

He believes that the warmth and hospitality of the people and the curiosity and openness with which they meet foreigners “is one thing that has remained unaffected in Iranian culture”.

Having been engaged with people, landscapes and music of Iran for many years, Schmitz has gained vast experience traveling from desert to the sea and getting familiar with different kinds of entertainment as well as people’s attitude toward Germany, which “has been odd in some cases.”

Calling Iran “the land of hospitality, images and words”, the German photographer has already introduced the Middle Eastern country to his own people and intends to do so once again at the exhibition where he will also deliver a report on the experiences he has brought from Iran.

The exhibit will open to the public on September 25 in Burscheid in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
