Tanavoli’s ‘Poem’ to Be Unveiled

The latest book of Parviz Tanavoli titled ‘Poem’ will be unveiled on November 14.

The book includes more than 100 works of art based on Iranian poems and Farhad Kuhkan (Farhad the Mountain Digger), a legendary Iranian character. ‘Poem’ is the sixth book of a series published by Bongah publishing company, ISNA reported.

In addition to unveiling the book, 10 published artworks in the book will be showcased at Etemad art gallery.

The book unveiling ceremony and the artwork exhibition will be held at 5pm at Etemad gallery (No.4, Mousavi St., Yaser St., Yaser Sq., Niavaran St., Tehran, Iran).

Tanavoli (born in 1937 in Tehran) is an Iranian sculptor, painter, scholar and art collector. After graduating from the Brera Academy of Milan in 1959, Tanavoli taught sculpture for three years at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. He then returned to Iran and took charge as director of the sculpture department at the University of Tehran, a position he held for 18 years until 1979, when he retired from teaching duties.
