‘Bloom Art’ for Orphans

A visual art exhibition by outstanding Iranian artists opened at Blooming Art Gallery in Tehran’s Ameneh Orphanage on May 29.

Co-organized by the ‘Ketabshahr’ institute and the State Welfare Organization (SWO) the exhibition features over 90 painting, calligraphy and calligram works, Honaronline reports.

Making the children, who are supported by the SWO, familiar with well-known Iranian artworks and encouraging them to take part in training workshops organized by the gallery, is the aim of the event, said Hamed Shafiq, head of ‘Ketabshahr’.

Works by caricaturist Kambiz Derambakhsh, calligrapher Meysam Soltani, late painter Hossein Qollar-Aqasi (1902-1966), calligrapher Bahador Pegah, painter Mahmound Samandarian and a large number of other artists, are featured at the exhibit.

The ‘Bloom Art’ project will continue as a permanent show, displaying various artworks every month created by over 100 renowned local artists.
