British Animations at TMOCA

Several animations by British directors and animators were screened at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts on Monday (May 23) during the ‘British week’ at the Spring Cinematheque Show.
According to the museum’s public relations office, the selected animations focused on the most significant approaches, styles as well as introduction of major British filmmakers in the field, Honaronline reported.
‘The Cabinet of Jan Svankmajer’ (1984) and ‘ Street of Crocodiles ‘ (1986) by Quay Brothers, ‘War Story’ (1989) and ‘Going Equipped’ (1990) by Peter Lord, Nick Park’s 1989 work ‘ Creature Comforts’, and  ‘Dog’ (2002) and ‘ Peter & the Wolf ‘ (2006) by Suzie Templeton, were among the nine animations scheduled to be screened.
The program started on April 27 and during its two-month screening, the world’s most celebrated doll animations and stop motion works since 1912 will be showed. One week each is dedicated to the participating country, including Russia, Czech, France, Japan and Britain.
The program will run through June 20 at the venue located in North Kargar Street, Tehran.
