A digital graphic creation, titled ‘Dimension of Ocean’ by Iranian artist Mohammad Ali Famori is part of the exhibited items at the ‘Contemporary Venice: Architectures of Identities,’ currently underway at the Palazzo Ca’ Zanardi in Venice, Italy.

It is the only Iranian work at the exhibition and Famori has illustrated women in society in the digital artwork, the Persian art magazine ‘Tandis’ reported.

The exhibition focuses on the different facets of social, physical and cultural identities of contemporary societies.

Every day, one comes across a multitude of different identities and roles in society and people “face public life by creating and adapting their social identities,” says a statement introducing the event.

Other artworks featured are by Glynis Ackermann (Switzerland), Gulay Alpay (Turkey), Sara Antunes (Portugal), Kati Bruder (Austria), Esther Bunting (UK), Patricia Creyns (Belgium) Jessica Dickinson (US), Veronica Hodges (Denmark), Christian Melot (France), Vincent Messelier (Belgium), Mika Qatsi (Italy) and Faris Salim Nakamura (Singapore).

Famori is a graduate in photography from Tehran University of Art and has a master’s degree in cultural management from Islamic Azad University.

He has held numerous solo exhibitions in Iran and won the first prize at the International Children Painting Festival in India (2000).

The international art exhibition of photography, video art, installation, painting and performance art, will run through May 19.
