The Kamkars, a Kurdish music band will hold a charity concert at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall to mark the 25th anniversary of Mahak Charity on May 26.

Titled ‘Shademaneh’ (literally happiness), this is the first performance by the band in the new calendar year that started on March 20, Honaronline reported.

Co-organized by Iran’s House of Music, the Kar-o Andisheh Company (KANCo.), a leading firm in the field of medical and pharmaceutical products, and Tarane Sharghee Cultural and Artistic Company, all the proceeds will go for medical treatment and rehab of the special child-patients of Mahak Hospital and Rehabilitation Complex, a pediatric cancer research and center in Tehran built by Mahak Charity.

The 120-bedroom complex focuses on the treatment and rehabilitation of children and providing support to their families through financial aid.

A well-known NGO, Mahak has received the Quality Silver Trophy from GIC International Institute and the gold award from the International Project Management Association (IPMA).

It is ranked in the top ten globally among over 260 non-governmental organizations benchmarked by the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, SGS, based in Geneva.

The Kamkars is a Kurdish family of seven brothers and a sister, all from the city of Sanandaj, the capital of Iran’s Kurdistan Province.
