The documentary film ‘He’ by Iranian filmmaker Sam Kalantari, has reached the final stage of the 8th TRT Documentary Awards, slated for May 12-16 in Turkey.
A 2015 production by the Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC), the film originally titled ‘Mannequins of Hassan Khan Castle’, focuses on shop window mannequins made in a factory in Qaleh Hassan Khan, a small town between Tehran and Alborz Province, Mehr News Agency reported.
‘He’ along with 11 other documentary movies will compete for the three awards at the international section of the event in Istanbul.
The contest will award $11,300 for the Best Documentary Film and $8000 and $5600 as the Special Jury Prize, to its winners in the international film category.
TRT has been organizing its Documentary Awards since 2009 to support amateur and professional documentary filmmakers, as well as to contribute to the development of the documentary film genre.
