The 20th Exhibition of Press & News Agencies will open on November 8 at a ceremony in the presence of Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati.

Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Hossein Entezami said “560 media entities have applied to take part in the event, of which 373 are private and 183 are state-run,” IRNA reported.

A total of 38 newspapers, 20 news agencies, 116 educational and specialized media, 4 press entities, 63 political-economic media, 70 family and public media, 8 non-Persian media, 45 cultural media, 10 children and young adults media, 13 sports media, 67 provincial journals, and 24 media institutes are scheduled to participate in this year’s round of the exhibition.

Furthermore, the fair will include two new sections: 23 media related to religion and thought and 33 regarding public relations of organizations.

On this year’s exhibition slogan ‘Media, Responsible Freedom’, Entezami said, “media should have freedom, although within the framework of law, to fulfill their mission. On the other hand, government should also respect press freedom.”

 Foreign Participation

Foreign media are attending the fair this year too. Almost 120 foreign press and news agencies which have offices in Iran are expected to be present.

Based on the announcements of the exhibition officials, “there will be several specialized meetings along with the display section.”

A special bulletin of the expo will be published daily to inform visitors about the ongoing events at the exhibition, which will be held at the Imam Khomeini Grand Musalla in Tehran until November 14. The week-long fair will be open to the public everyday from 9 am to 8 pm.
