The 10th painting exhibition in support of children with cancer was held at Mahak Charity Institute in Tehran, April 14 and 15.

It displayed 72 artworks by young students of painter Tara Behbahani on the theme of ‘Life From My Perspective’ through which the artists expressed their views about life as well as their sympathy and support for their little friends in Mahak, FardaNews.com reported.

“It’s like it was yesterday when we held the first exhibition in Mahak with only 16 child and adolescent artists. On that day, we never expected that our 16-strong team would expand to 72 members with more kind-hearted youth joining in,” said Behbahani hoping that the expo would create a platform for full support of children suffering from the life-threatening disease.

Behbahani is also an art researcher who has attended numerous exhibitions both nationally and internationally. For ten years, she has been holding painting expos in Mahak Institute and donating all the earnings from the sale of artworks to the treatment of Mahak children. Through this, she aims not only to provide financial aid, but also to draw the attention of healthy children across the country toward their peers battling with the often terminal illness while fostering a culture of kindness and benevolence among young adults.

The Mahak Society to Support Children with Cancer is a non-governmental organization dedicated to helping children with cancer. It has offered financial assistance to over 13,000 children suffering from cancer and supportive services to families.

Besides its central mission, the society seeks to develop the culture of helpfulness and altruism among the young generation and to get them know more about the age-old tradition of giving and empathy.

In February the charity obtained a score of 5.95, securing the 4th place globally in the 7th Société Generale de Surveillance (NGO) Benchmarking Certification Audit. The Geneva-based SGS is the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, recognized as the global benchmark for quality and integrity.
