Iranian translator and poet who had English translation of the Holy Qur’an and numerous English poems in his resume passed away in Qom on Tuesday. He was 83.
His poems, mostly in praise of the 14 Infallible Shia Imams, were published in the local and foreign (English) language media on many occasions, ISNA reported.
Najafi who held a PhD in English literature published three poetry books. He translated many books, including the Holy Quran into English.
In recent years he lived in the holy city of Qom and his body was laid to rest in Baqi’e Cemetery of the city on Wednesday.
