Iran Cultural Fairs Institute (ICFI) will represent Iran at the 53rd Bologna Children Book Fair, slated for April 4-7 in Bologna, Italy, displaying 270 titles from 30 publications.

The ICFI has planned a variety of programs at Iran’s 32-square-meter pavilion including introducing five Iranian illustrators whose works partake in the 2016 book fair illustration competition, IBNA reported.

Furthermore, Iranian books whose rights have been purchased by international publishers will be introduced. A catalogue containing information on Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) will be presented at the stand and the ICFI will invite foreign publishers to participate in the 29th edition, due in May.

Amir Kabir, Ofogh, Paidayesh, Chekeh, Khane-ye-Adabiat, Mohajer and Shabaviz are among the publishers whose publications will be showcased at the event.

Bologna International Children Book Fair is the most important international event dedicated to children’s publishing and multimedia industry.

It is a venue for authors, illustrators, literary agents, licensors and licensees, packagers, distributors, printers, booksellers and librarians to sell and buy copyright and identify the works of children’s publishing and multimedia productions.

The news agency said 1200 publishers from 98 countries are attending the event whose news and reviews will be covered by 864 reporters from 33 countries.

For the first time this year a hall is dedicated to the digital media. Germany is the guest of honor at the prestigious event.
