The Iranian ‘Peace Choir’ led by Mohammadreza Pourmoqadam will participate in the ‘Renaissance’ international contest and festival for young music performers in the city of Gyumri in Armenia.

The choir, with an aim to deliver the message of peace and friendship to the world, will bring its repertoire to the Armenian stage to perform an Azeri-Armenian musical piece on April 15 alongside works by prominent English Renaissance composer Thomas Tallis.

The choir came together with the objective to promote classical music “for all segments of the society” and raise the level of awareness among the people. Performing under the slogan ‘Messenger of Peace for All’, the group admits members every six months and trains individuals for specific levels of music.

The choir is also scheduled to attend the Berlin Festival in February 2017, Linz festival in Austria in June and Calella festival in Spain in October next year.

The city of Gyumri is hosting the 8th edition of the festival.
