Iran Short Film Wins HK Award

Iranian short film ‘Unfortunately’ directed by Sharokh Dolkou won the silver award at the 21st edition of Incubator for Film and Visual media in Asia (IFVA) in Hong Kong at the closing ceremony on March 5.

The movie was among the 10 shortlisted works in the competition section of Asian New Force and won the Silver Award while the Golden Award went to ‘Playgrounds’, directed by Shamik Sen Gupta from India, Mehr News Agency reported.

The movie is about a man in a cafe who talks to his sister-in-law about the problems he has with his wife.

Based on a script by Dolkou and Mohammad Toloui, the film features well-known actors Atila Pesyani and Elham Korda.

The 26-minute film has been accepted for the 2016 Cannes Film Festival’s Short Film Corner, as well as West Chester International Short Film Festival in the US.
