Works of art by contemporary Iranian artists are presented for sale at Laleh Gallery during the 5th annual art expo that opened on February 19.

A total of 200 visual artworks by 87 young and veteran artists in modern and contemporary styles, created over the past seven decades, are presented at the expo. The items include paintings, sketches, photo arts and handprint, Honaronline reported.

The opening ceremony was attended by director of Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, Majid Mollanorouzi, head of Museums Affairs at the Art and Cultural Organization of Tehran Municipality, Shahram Babaei, and a number of art figures.

The exhibition aims to support the economics of art, and to provide a platform for the people to buy valuable artworks to decorate their homes and office space.

The items are reasonably priced between $27 and $190 a piece, making it economically accessible for art enthusiasts. So far, over 95 artworks have been purchased by visitors.

“The discounted prices help artists sell their works; moreover the exhibition is offering the paintings at a lower price to facilitate more purchases by the public,” said Mohammad-Hossein Salabifar, gallery director and exhibition curator.

“After four successful rounds of the event, the gallery continues to contribute to the development of local talent. The unique feature of the expo is the participation of the large number of artists in different age groups and with individualistic styles.”
